About

About Payday One Loans

Payday One Loans is a lender-matching and editorial service that turns state payday statutes into plain numbers — then routes one request to independent licensed lenders. We are not a lender, we never charge borrowers a fee, and any offer you receive comes from a third-party lender under its own license and pricing.

What we do differently

Most lending sites start from an offer and work backwards to the content. We start from the statute. Every state and city guide on this site is computed from a shared dataset of lending laws — maximum loan, maximum fee, term, rollover rules, regulator — with the check date printed on the page. Where a state licenses no payday product, the page says so instead of inventing a ticket, and prices the legal alternatives instead. Where the market sets the price, the page labels it market pricing rather than dressing it up as a cap.

The method

  1. Statute first. Caps, fees, and terms come from state law and regulator publications — checked October 2026, re-checked quarterly.
  2. Dollar math, not adjectives. A fee is shown as what you repay: $300 in a 15%-fee state costs $45, repay $315. APR on short terms (35.99%–359.99%) is printed next to the fee so nothing hides in annualization.
  3. Cheaper doors always priced. Credit-union PALs at a 28% federal cap, earned-wage access, hardship plans — compared alongside every loan product.
  4. One form, no pressure. The request form is the only form on the site; submitting is free, uses a soft check, and commits you to nothing.

What we cover

State-licensed payday and cash-advance guides across 46 jurisdictions — every state plus DC except AR, NY, NH, VT, and WV, which the matching network excludes entirely. Top-20 city guides per state. A tribal installment hub covering the same map under tribal law ($300–$2,000, 3–24 months). And a guide library answering the questions borrowers actually search, edited by Odessa Farrow against the same standards.

The honest boundaries
